Lovely tribute by Ed Moran, including an interview with Olympian Micah Boyd. Miriam Baer: A Tough and Caring CoachPlease visit the new Memorial Celebration page for an explanation of the order of service and photos of the day.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE Additional materials, photo captions, & corrections are welcomed. The Miriam Baer Memorial Fund is now live at GoFundMe.
The family is grateful to all who have been asking for information. They give thanks to Miriam's friends at Landmark, who have collected funding for a memorial tree and bench (placement TBD) and to MBC for starting the collection for the Leah Miriam Baer and Zephaniah Levi Baer educational fund. Details regarding the Miriam Baer Memorial Fund to serve youth and inclusion in rowing have yet to be finalized. Miriam's close friend, Kelly Jendro, former Landmark Course Supervisor with Miriam, will be heading the team working on this project. Donations can be sent through the GoFundMe site, or via check. The GoFundMe platform is free. A standard transaction fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation allows for credit card processing and safe transfer of funds. No tip is necessary or encouraged. For those who prefer to donate by check, they should (as of 11/12/2019) be made payable to "Zeph Baer" or "Zeph or Dana Baer." Use the memo line to direct the donation, and email <[email protected]> for the mailing address. In the coming days, a bank account will be set up for ease of process. Thank you for your patience as the details are worked through. Thank you to everyone who has visited this site and left their words and memories. Thank you to everyone who has sent in their memories and condolences. We are trying to get everything put up, either on the photos page or on the condolence book page. If anyone else has more news clippings, please feel free to send them in too (and a special thank you to Lynn Hodgett for that 1974 picture of Miriam in knee socks, and to Mike Dupont for contributing the 2000 Pioneer Press article about Miriam-protégée Marit Chrislock).
Later, we will put up a bio page of some sort. For now--we are having our hands full keeping up with the material we are getting. Again, thank you all for your messages. Please share the link for this page, and spread the word. Miriam's family would love to hear from you. Please send condolences, memories, & photos to:
